Campus Maps privacy
Updated 25 October 2026. Campus Maps is a student-run map of UWI St. Augustine, operated by Brandon Deonarine. It is an independent project.
Browsing and your device
You can browse without signing in. Saved places, classes, display preferences and offline map data are stored in your browser. You can clear them using your browser's site-data settings. If you allow location access, the app uses your location for nearby places and navigation. Campus Maps does not save a history of your movements in its database.
Google sign-in
When you sign in, Google supplies a verified account identifier, email address, name and profile picture. We store these to identify contributions, manage access and prevent abuse. We do not receive your Google password or request access to Gmail, Drive, Calendar or contacts. A signed session cookie keeps you signed in for up to 30 days. Signing out clears that cookie.
Contributions and moderation
We store place suggestions, edits, uploaded photos, reports, review decisions and moderation activity. Appointed admins can see contributor identities and review submissions. Approved place information and photos appear publicly. Your account email is not included in public place listings. Do not upload private information about other people or photos you do not have permission to share.
Services involved
Vercel serves the public address. The application, database and photo storage run on Sites infrastructure using Cloudflare. Google handles Google sign-in. OpenFreeMap provides map tiles based on OpenStreetMap data. Online directions may use the FOSSGIS Valhalla service and send route coordinates to it. These providers receive network requests necessary to deliver their services, including normal connection information such as IP addresses.
Retention and requests
Account records and contributions remain in the service until removed. Moderation records help admins track decisions and abuse. To request access, correction or removal of your account or submitted information, contact bd@brandondeonarine.com from the Google email used to sign in. Include enough detail to identify the contribution. Public map facts may remain after account information is removed.
